Bicycle Training Log

This table shows a log of my bike training efforts, since I started tracking them. I started training in November 2007, and have made decent progress. On the mechanics of how this page is made, the data for it is held in a Google Documents spreadsheet, and as being referenced on this page using the Loghound PlusKit plugin "GTable" command in RapidWeaver. 7/26/2009 30 50 Gumisawa to Tsushintai in Totsuka, then to Yamato, Atsugi, Ebina, Samukawa, Chigasaki, Kugenuma, Enoshima, and back. 64.5 204 19 44.5 Good Took vaam before ride, and in general energy lasted longer. However, the wind was awful!

4/19/2009 22 57 Gumisawa to Enoshima via the Sakai river bike route, then down the coast along the ocean bike route to Hiratsuka, and back. 56.6 173 19.6 44 Good Good condition generally but legs felt like rubber at 40 km, so I stopped for lunch.

3/7/2009 14 65 Gumisawa to Marsh bike shop in Shonandai, then to Chigasaki and back home along the coast road. 45.2 149 18.2 33.4 Good Felt good to get out on a long ride. Pollen meds made ride pretty easy. Coast road was sandy but the sand was not deep. Lots of fun today! Can't wait for summer!

11/1/2008 19 40 Gumisawa to Enoshima, along coast road to Chigasaki, up Sagami to past Samukawa, route 22 east to Tateba and home. 48.2 161 18 41 Good. Equaled best time to Enoshima.
10/25/2008 23 75 Gumisawa to Konandai, to Costco and back. 44 165 16 47 Good. Easier still. Hills have not moved since last week!
10/19/2008 21 64 Gumisawa to Konandai, past Costco near Noukendai, to Hakkeijima Sea Paradise and back. 45 181 14.9 43 Good. The assault gets easier. Still the same hills, even more of them near Hakkeijima, but, despite the wind it was a good ride. Took it pretty slow today. I went onto the bridge at Hakkeijima, and was aurally assaulted by a "NO BIKES ALLOWED IN THE PARK" bellowing from the loudspeakers. Wha...?
10/12/2008 17 46 Gumisawa to Konandai, to Costco near Noukendai and back. 39 157 14.9 40 Good. Went to CostCo to get bagels. Lots and LOTS of hills on this new route. Was looking at map whole time so it was slow going. Did I mention there were a lot of hills. I went up what felt like an assault on the Alps, near Yamate Gakuin. Endless hill.
10/4/2008 15 44 Gumisawa to Enoshima, then over Kamakura-yama "Three Hills" under Monorail to Ofuna, back to Totsuka and home. 27.9 85 19.6 44.6 Good. Short trip only due to flu shots and work (not supposed to work out right after the shot). Sunday morning is better. Today, Saturday, was really crowded with people walking their kids and dogs. Sunday early is less crowded.
9/28/2008 18 44 Gumisawa to Enoshima along Sakai, over to Sagami River along coast, up to Atsugi along Mekujiri, across route 40 to Yamato, down Sakai river to Chogo and back. 66 208 19 46.5 A bit slow today. Cold and windy. Fast time to Enoshima, but there were sand drifts on the beach bike road, and about 1000 pensioners walking on the trail I usually use along the Sagami River. Guides every 500 m or so; probably some public event.
